Gillian Massey

Gillian provides administrative oversight of all CCR mediators including interviewing, mediator development, and much more. She also directly helps parties, through Day of Hearing court mediation and telephone conciliation. She handles complaints from the community using de-escalation techniques, helping parties to find a workable solution. Gillian often acts as coach to students in mediation clinic classes. She has been an integral part of the CCR community since 1990. Prior to working with CCR, Gillian worked as Director of the Mathematics, Engineering Science Achievement (MESA) program at California State University Northridge (CSUN); Director of the Upward Bound Program, at Oberlin College, Ohio, and Upward Bound Counselor at the University of the Virgin Islands. She lobbied in Congress for low income/first-generation historically underrepresented students. She has extensive grant writing experience and has written and executed NSF, DOE, and state grants. Gillian also served as Director of the nursery unit at an Orphanage - Queen Louise Home for Children. She was a  Social Worker with the Department of Health and Human Services, Foster Care Division and interned in hospitals, jails and foster care in Miami, Florida. Gillian is a member of the Southern California Mediation Association (SCMA).
